A is for Angels

SO - I have a friend who helped get me started with the blog who is doing this challenge - every day for the month, (or in her case almost every hour), her topic focuses on a letter of the alphabet starting with A.  I’m going to try and meet her challenge and see how many letters I can get through before the end of the month.  Obviously I’m a little behind - so here goes.

A is for Angels.  When I think of the letter A this is the first thing that pops into my head.  Perhaps because of my name.  I wholeheartedly believe in Angels.  There is something comforting about the thought of a spiritual presence sent to watch over and protect you - it’s always made me feel better thinking someone or something out there is on my side, helping me or guiding me when necessary.  If you were raised in any sort of religious household, Angels come with the territory.  They are viewed as guardians, protectors, even warriors in the case of the Archangel Michael sending the Lucifer to hell. As  a child the connotation is presented as some sort of winged beings who watch over us.  However, as I get older my perspective has evolved.

Angel literally translates to ‘messenger of God’.  I believe angels embody not just a spiritual presence, but any physical presence, a person, a message, that voice in your head, those incidents that make you detour from your original course and helps keep you on your path.  Again, here’s my dual-nature throwing her 2 cents in...although I don’t necessarily believe in fate - that we’re destined to succeed or fail or pre-ordained to ‘become’ something, I do believe we are here to learn a lesson, accomplish a task, and that we have a designated path we’re set on by God, or whatever higher being you choose to believe in - and that path has a purpose; which to me, is the whole point of living this life.  The older I get, the more I listen to my instincts, my gut, even when I don’t get my way - I surrender to it and don’t let it bother me.  As far as my life is concerned, I’ve decided to put my faith and trust in those Angels - or messenger messages - and let them direct my path.  So far, I haven’t been steered wrong.
